International Women’s Day: crypto line-up

It’s hard to be a woman in the corporate world, even harder in the tech industry, and particularly so in the crypto sector. Any woman who makes it to the top of the crypto pile is a serious force to be reckoned with.

Today is International Women’s Day, so we’d like to highlight five women who have made a fantastic contribution to the crypto world. Thank you!

Kelly Loeffler. CEO of Bakkt, the organisation seeking to launch the flagship bitcoin ETF, for which the crypto community has been waiting for so long. Bakkt is widely viewed as the best hope for a BTC ETF at this point, offering physically-backed bitcoin futures and underpinned by the might of Intercontinental Exchange.

Elizabeth Stark, CEO of Lightning Labs. Lightning has proven a massively important addition to the Bitcoin infrastructure, enabling fast, low-cost transactions in volumes that the main chain simply cannot support. Without it, there would be a serious question mark over bitcoin’s future as a payment mechanism.

Kathleen Breitman, co-founder of Tezos. Tezos held one of the most successful token sales in history, raising more than $200 million for its smart contracts platform that features a new form of on-chain governance. There’s been a lot of buzz around Tezos and we’re looking forward to seeing what the future holds for it.

Arianna Simpson, Managing partner at Autonomous Partners, a crypto investment and consultancy fund that helps push forward the most promising projects in the space. Simpson was previously involved with BitGo, a leading multi-sig wallet and crypto security company.

Amber Baldet, co-founder and CEO of blockchain ecosystem Clovyr, as well as being a board member of the ZCash foundation and the former head of JP Morgan’s Blockchain Center of Excellence. Anyone whose job it is to convince Jamie Dimon of the utility of crypto and blockchain gets our respect. Anyone who leaves the corporate world to go it alone gets it even more.
